Class Details
Working from a simple sailboat seascape, we’ll paint multiple small renditions of the same scene to explore how different types of watercolor paper affect color, texture, blending, and overall mood.
Inspired by techniques from Anna N Studio, this class is all about observation and experimentation. We’ll compare how various papers handle wet-in-wet washes, lifting, edge control, and layered color — and talk through why the same painting feels different depending on the surface we're working on.
You’ll leave with small seascape studies, a clearer understanding of how to choose watercolor paper for different effects, and more confidence in letting the materials work with you instead of against you. No experience necessary — just curiosity and a willingness to test, compare, and explore.
