Class Details
We'll work through the satisfying process of laying down soft watercolor washes first, then adding ink linework on top to define the flowers and bring the whole composition into focus. Using a reference work by Siam the Artist, this class embraces the beauty of painting with freedom — building blooms in coral, blush, and green before going back in with ink to add detail, depth, and a bit of hand-drawn charm. We'll explore wet-in-wet technique for soft backgrounds, how to suggest leaves and petals with loose washes, and how ink layered over dried watercolor creates that distinctive illustrated-yet-painterly look.
You'll leave with a finished piece you're proud of, a better feel for the watercolor-first approach, and a new appreciation for how a little ink can transform a painting. No experience necessary — just bring your curiosity and enjoy the process.
