Class Details
We’ll work from a cozy still life — a mug of hot cocoa topped with whipped cream and marshmallows — and explore how to capture creamy whites, subtle shadows, and gentle reflections on ceramic surfaces.
You’ll learn how to build form with value, control edges to suggest softness, and layer watercolor to create depth without overworking the page. We’ll also talk through simplifying details so the painting feels inviting rather than fussy.
You’ll leave with a finished watercolor, a better understanding of painting whites and neutrals, and the confidence to tackle cozy still-life subjects on your own. No experience necessary — just a willingness to slow down and enjoy the process.
