Join us for a relaxed, 2-hour watercolor class focused on painting a bold tuxedo cat while learning when — and why — to use masking fluid. Inspired by the work of watercolor artist DJ Rogers, this class is all about preserving light, texture, and personality without overworking your painting.
We’ll explore different masking tools (brush, pen, toothpick) and how each one affects the final result. You’ll learn how to plan masked areas in advance, layer washes confidently over them, and reveal crisp highlights that bring whiskers, fur, and expression to life.
You’ll leave with a finished cat portrait, a practical understanding of masking fluid techniques, and more confidence using it intentionally rather than cautiously. No experience necessary — just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
